About

As an illustrator and designer I create art for a variety of clients, each with a unique set of needs. From my beginnings at the Walt Disney Company to working with a multitude of companies and organizations spanning from the entertainment & retail industry to the private sector, I work and live in the world of art, color and design.

After receiving my BFA at Syracuse University and through my studies abroad at Parson's School of Design and at The NYC School of Visual Arts, my roots were firmly planted in the world of design. This formal education and experience allowed me to strike out on my own and establish Cathy B. Design in 1997. Fifteen years later, Cathy B. Design is continuing to create visual experiences for some of the most recognizable brands in the market place. Characters like Winnie the Pooh, Cookie Monster and others have all been brought to life through design and conceptual collaborations with clients throughout my career.

I LOVE WHAT I DO!

In addition to my contract work, I also create through my licensing business in the consumer product markets. I design in a variety of mediums such as textiles, home furnishings and paper goods. You can find Cathy B. licensed art in stores like Target and Michael's Craft Stores throughout the country.

Not only do I give my clients my knowledge and experience of executing creative elements, I truly enjoy the challenge of designing new brands, refreshing existing concepts and helping grow my clients' businesses. Taking an idea that is simply in your imagination and making it a reality is something I always strive to achieve. As you'll see from the Portfolio pages, my experience is extensive and executed in many styles from corporate to whimsical.

Versatility as an artist allows me to create work that is fun, original and fresh. I am selective when choosing clients and limit the number I work with at any given time in order to provide clients with complete dedication to them and their projects.

Living in beautiful Austin Texas provides me with a great backdrop for creativity. Inspiration consistently flows through this colorful, eclectic and innovative city where I live with my amazing kids, husband and sweet Golden Retriever Max!
